Starr Japan has appointed Jun Minorikawa as CEO, General Manager, and Legal Representative, the insurer announced in a company statement on LinkedIn.

Minorikawa brings 20 years of experience in multinational carrier and broker roles. He will be based in the business’s Tokyo office and will lead the company’s strategy, business development, and profitable growth in Japan, Starr said.

He takes over from Roy Nakazawa, who moved to WTW as Head of Japan and Head of CRB Japan on 1 April.

Minorikawa joins from Credit Insurance Company, Coface Japan where he most recently served as Country Manager. Prior, he was Head of Japanese Solutions at the business, from July 2019 to July 2022.

Before joining Coface, Minorikawa had been with Aon since 2004, starting in the Singapore office before moving to Aon in New York in 2014.
