Sun life asia names georgina farrell as chief human resources officer

Sun Life has appointed Georgina Farrell as its Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) for Asia, effective 1 May 2025, the company announced.

Farrell will lead Sun Life’s talent and culture strategy in Asia, focusing on talent development, organizational growth, and employee engagement, the insurer said.

Based in Hong Kong, she will also join the regional headquarters’ Asia Executive Team and HR Executive Team. She will report to Helena Pagano, Executive Vice President and Chief People and Culture Officer, and Manjit Singh, President of Sun Life Asia.

Sun Life President Manjit Singh welcomed Farrell’s appointment: “As we grow and transform our Asia business, attracting and developing top talent while maintaining our strong culture is a key priority. Georgina is an outstanding HR leader with extensive experience designing and executing people strategies to support transformation and international growth.”

Farrell has over 20 years of experience in HR leadership across Asia, Europe, and the Middle East.

She joins Sun Life from RSA, where she was Chief People Officer for the UK, Ireland, and Europe, overseeing an integrated people strategy to support business growth. Before RSA, she held HR and employee engagement roles at Zurich Insurance and LV in London and Dubai and at non-insurance firms, including Eircom, O2 Ireland, Tesco, and Marks & Spencer in Ireland, according to LinkedIn.
