Teresa Pollard has been appointed as interim chief executive officer of Delta Insurance Group, following Kent Chaplin’s departure, according to a company LinkedIn post on Thursday authored by Ryan Eagar, group chairman.
Pollard takes the reins in board advisory and executive positions from Chaplin, who has stepped down after leading the group for the past seven years.
Pollard is a long-term shareholder of Delta Group and was most recently its chairperson for business innovation. She has more than 25 years of experience in technology, sales, and operations, having held senior leadership and executive roles in various companies, such as Digital Board Partners, Global Women, WNT Ventures, Te Pūkenga, Datacom, and Microsoft.
Commenting on the appointment, Eagar said: “Her experience in unlocking growth through scale and innovation, combined with Delta’s strong insurance capability, positions the business to continue its growth trajectory while ensuring continuity through the leadership transition.”
He also thanked Chaplin for the former CEO’s leadership, under which the business “experienced significant growth and success across the Asia-Pacific”.
“The Delta Insurance Group’s Board and shareholders are grateful for Kent’s contributions in building Delta into the award-winning, leading independent MGA group it is today, and we wish him continued success,” Eagar said.
Pollard’s appointment and Chaplin’s departure follow Hamish MacLean’s designation as the managing general agent’s managing director for Australia early last month.
