Berkley Insurance Asia has appointed Vivian Chow as Commercial Professional Indemnity Underwriting Manager, the company announced on LinkedIn on Thursday.
She joins after nearly 10 years with AIG and brings more than 20 years of experience in the insurance and reinsurance industries, with a focus on financial lines.
In her new role, Hong Kong-based Chow has an Asia-wide remit to lead Berkley’s newly established Commercial Professional Liability practice. “Vivian will enhance and expand Berkley Insurance Asia’s PI offering across the region,” the insurer said in its announcement.
The appointment forms part of Berkley’s efforts to strengthen its presence in the area and follows two underwriting appointments in Hong Kong earlier this month, with Derek Sin promoted to Financial Lines Senior Underwriter and Anita Lee joining as Commercial Lines Underwriter.
It also aligns with the group’s push to grow its presence in Asia. In December, Berkley announced its entry into India’s GIFT City, shortly before appointing Ashaya Kantawala as Chief Underwriting Officer for India.
