Berkley Insurance Asia has strengthened its Hong Kong underwriting team with the appointment of Anita Lee as Commercial Lines Underwriter and the promotion of Derek Sin to Financial Lines Senior Underwriter, according to company announcements posted on LinkedIn.
Sin joined the firm in 2022 and has over five years of underwriting experience in Financial Lines, with a focus on management liability. He has worked across a range of products, including directors and officers (D&O), professional indemnity, and cyber liability. Berkley described the promotion as “a testament to his hard work and commitment to excellence.” He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from the University of Buckingham.
Lee previously served as a Financial Lines Underwriter at AIG and has also held roles in sales and business development. Berkley Insurance Asia noted that her background enhances her ability to assess risk and build long-term client relationships. “We are confident that Anita’s expertise and dedication will be an invaluable addition to our team and for our clients,” the company said.
Sin’s and Lee’s appointments are part of a broader round of underwriting moves within the Berkley group. Earlier this week, Berkley Insurance Australia also appointed Sue Pereira as Underwriter based in Sydney.
