Global (re)insurer AXA XL has appointed Timothy Smit as its Global Head of Cyber Risk Strategies and Partnership Programs, a newly created role.
In a company statement on LinkedIn, AXA XL said, “Tim will help us pioneer new cyber risk services and innovative partnerships across AXA globally to help our clients stay ahead of cyber threats.”
The business added that Smit’s role is part of the Cyber Center of Expertise, which is led by Anthony Dagostino, AXA XL’s Global Chief Cyber Underwriting Officer.
Smit brings a wealth of experience across insurance and technology to his new role. His career includes a six-year tenure at Lockton, where he served as the Global Privacy & Cyber Risk Consulting Leader. His background also includes time in information security roles at businesses such as Amazon and Target.
