Allianz Trade has appointed Tetsushi Kitano as country manager for its Thailand unit, effective 1 September, the business announced in a media release on Wednesday.

The appointment will expand Kitano’s current role as Regional Head of the Japan desk in ASEAN, having operated from Hong Kong since 2019.

Kitano has been with the trade credit insurer for more than 17 years, starting as a Commercial Underwriter. He has since worked across various roles within the firm, including as Business Development Manager and Commercial Director.

Domenico Licup, CEO of Allianz Trade in ASEAN, noted Kitano’s strong grasp of credit insurance and customer needs as a valuable asset to their team. “I am confident that his appointment will further strengthen our regional presence and drive continued success for our business in Thailand,” Licup said.

Speaking about his relocation, Kitano expressed his excitement to work with the local team and partners, adding: “This opportunity will be a positive challenge for me as I commit to delivering best-in-class services to our local customers en route to achieving sustainable and profitable growth for our portfolio.”

Kitano is the latest in a series of appointments at Allianz Trade, with Rodrigo Jimenez named as Regional CEO and Hélène Payen as Regional CFO for Asia Pacific, and Ivy Wanda Sthefvanie promoted to Commercial Manager in Indonesia.
