Bupa Hong Kong has expanded its health and wellness outreach through a collaboration with New Zealand Rugby, welcoming the All Blacks Sevens and Black Ferns Sevens ahead of the Hong Kong Sevens. This initiative forms part of a broader global agreement between Bupa and New Zealand Rugby (NZR) aimed at promoting wellbeing across selected markets.

As part of this collaboration, Bupa serves as the global healthcare partner of the All Blacks Sevens and Black Ferns Sevens. In Hong Kong, the partnership is being implemented through “Healthy Cities: Together We Step – Season 1”, a community-focused programme that encourages residents to adopt incremental health-related behaviours. The initiative was officially launched at a welcome event in the city.

To drive participation, Bupa is utilising its digital health platform, Blua, which enables users to track activity levels and engage in wellness challenges. The initiative is further supported by the involvement of New Zealand Rugby players, who are helping promote key messages around health and wellbeing.

In addition to the local programme, the partnership includes a global campaign titled Human After All, featuring current and former New Zealand Rugby players sharing personal health stories. Participants such as Sir John Kirwan, Ruby Tui, Aaron Cruden, Tone Ng Shiu, and Dhys Faleafaga discuss topics including resilience, motherhood, and illness—highlighting health issues that resonate beyond sport.

“We are excited to welcome New Zealand Rugby to Bupa Hong Kong to champion wellbeing, inspire healthier lifestyles, and to support these world-class athletes in performing at their very best”, said Fiona Harris, Managing Director of Bupa Hong Kong.

The timing of the partnership aligns with the upcoming 2025 Hong Kong Sevens, which will be held for the first time at the new Kai Tak Sports Park. Notably, both the All Blacks Sevens and Black Ferns Sevens will enter the tournament as reigning champions.
