Hong Kong’s Insurance Authority (IA) has reappointed Stephen Yiu as Chairman for a term of three years, the regulator announced in a statement on Friday.
Alongside Yiu’s reappointment, the IA also announced a series of appointments and reappointments to the roles of non-executive directors (NEDs).
The regulator has appointed Professor Darwin Choi, Andrew Fung and Dr. Fung Hong as new non-executive Directors for a three-year term.
It has also reappointed Ivy Cheung, Lam Wai-kong, Terry Lo, Dr. Derrick Pang, Anson Wong, SC, and Kenneth Wong as NEDs for a term of three years. While Dr. Clement Chen, Agnes Choi and Theresa Ng were reappointed as NEDs for terms of two years.
“The new NEDs are talented individuals with valuable experience in their respective professional fields who will bring in fresh ideas and enriched perspectives, while the reappointed NEDs will provide much-needed continuity to sustain the momentum built up in pursuing our key performance targets,” said Yiu.
Yiu also shared his appreciation for the “enormous” contributions from outgoing NEDs, Evelyn Lam, Dr. Ares Leung and Professor Anna Wong during their tenure
