Sun Life Vietnam has appointed Lay Hoon Tan as its new Chief Executive Officer, the company announced on LinkedIn.

Tan joins Sun Life after a decade-long career at Manulife, where she first joined in Singapore and eventually relocated to Vietnam as its Chief Risk Officer.  She brings over two decades of industry experience to her new role, taking on senior and leadership roles for companies such as Aviva, Mercer, and AIA, according to LinkedIn

Speaking about Tan’s new role, the company said, “Lay Hoon will be responsible for driving business growth and delivering on our Purpose to help Clients in Vietnam achieve lifetime financial security and live healthier lives.”

Tan’s appointment is the latest among other key leadership announcements made by Sun Life this year. In February, Georgina Farrell was named Chief Human Resources Officer for Asia, while Noor Azam bin Mohd Yusof was appointed CEO of Sun Life Malaysia Takaful. Meanwhile, March saw the appointment of Bennet Li as Chief Financial Officer for Asia.
