Marcus Pearson has officially commenced his role as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Lockton Pacific on September 1, the company said in a media release.
Pearson’s move was first announced as Paul Marsden’s successor in March, with the leadership transition culminating this month. Based in Brisbane, he now oversees Lockton’s operations in Australia and New Zealand, focusing on growth, client relationships, and the firm’s independent broker culture.
He joined from Marsh McLennan, where he was Chief Commercial Officer for the Pacific. His career includes roles as Pacific head of Marsh Specialty, CEO of Marsh New Zealand for more than eight years, and earlier leadership positions at JLT Australia.
Chris Brown, CEO of Lockton International, said Pearson’s track record in the region positions him to accelerate Lockton’s Pacific growth. “Marcus’s unique experience working with clients and associates will help us build on the substantial growth we have seen in our Pacific business,” Brown said.
Pearson succeeds Marsden, who served nearly eight years as Lockton Pacific CEO. Marsden, based in Perth, remains with the firm in a consultancy capacity focused on client relationships.
Pearson’s appointment follows a series of senior hires in Lockton’s Pacific business, including Craig Claughton and Dennis Moens, who joined the Professional and Executive Risk team in Australia in July.
