Chubb Life has appointed Stephen Newton as its Chief Information Officer (CIO), based in Hong Kong, according to a LinkedIn announcement on Saturday, 16 August.
Newton brings over two decades of experience, including serving as HSBC’s Managing Director and Global CIO for Insurance and Asset Management and Director of Global Banking and Markets for the Asia Pacific.
Prior to HSBC, he also held senior roles across Asset and Liability Management and Global Treasury at Standard Chartered Bank, operating out of the United Kingdom.
“With over 20 years of leadership and technology expertise, Stephen’s appointment underscores our commitment to advancing our digital capabilities,” Chubb stated in its post.
Over the last two months, Chubb has made key personnel changes within its APAC business. The insurer tapped Carlie Chan as Chief Compliance Officer and promoted Davey Wong to Head of Risk in Hong Kong. For Australia and New Zealand, Chubb named Brian Hogan as Head of Accident & Health and Matthew Dick as Head of Claims.
