Swiss Re has appointed Pavel Huerta Uribe as Head of Property Underwriting Globals for Asia-Pacific, effective September 15, 2025, succeeding Andy Tran, the reinsurer announced in a media release.

Huerta Uribe, who will be based in Tokyo, Japan, served as Senior Client Underwriter at Swiss Re, where he was responsible for the Israeli property and casualty treaty portfolio and focused on developing catastrophe risk transfer solutions for clients in Mediterranean markets.

He has spent the majority of his career with Swiss Re, holding senior roles in P&C treaty underwriting, team leadership, and business development. Between 2009 and 2014, he led the Treaty Underwriting unit for Spain, Portugal, and Italy, and later worked on Swiss Re’s initiative to expand earthquake and flood insurance penetration across EMEA.

The appointment is part of broader leadership changes at Swiss Re, which recently named Lisa Matthews as Head of Customer and Distribution Management for ANZ at Swiss Re Corporate Solutions and Robin Spencer as COO of its Life & Health Reinsurance unit.
