Swiss Re Corporate Solutions has appointed Lisa Matthews as Head of Customer and Distribution Management for its Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) market unit, the company said in a LinkedIn post, September 12.
Based in Melbourne, Matthews steps up from her role as Principal Customer and Distribution Manager, which she held for six months. She also previously served as Customer and Distribution Manager for ANZ for more than seven years.
Matthews’ appointment builds on Swiss Re Corporate Solutions’ announcement of its dedicated Customer and Distribution team for ANZ in April 2025, which the company said was designed to deliver more targeted, strategic, and client-focused services across the region.
More than two decades of experience in insurance and broking underpin Matthews’ career, including senior roles at Accident and Health International (AHI), Allianz Australia, and AIG. She began her career in London as a placement broker with Thompson Heath and Bond, placing North American property and casualty risks into the Lloyd’s market.
The move also comes amid a series of leadership changes at Swiss Re, including the recent naming of Robin Spencer as COO of its Life & Health Reinsurance unit and new portfolio leaders for the restructured FinPro team in ANZ.
Swiss Re said Matthews brings “a sharp strategic mindset and a customer-first approach” that will help deliver value to partners across the ANZ market.
