Howden appoints Alfred Sham as interim CEO for Hong Kong with Mark Johnson set to depart

Sham has been with the company since 2013 and will step up as Interim CEO, with Johnson set to move to a major Hong Kong insurer in Spring.

Howden has announced the appointment of Alfred Sham as the Interim CEO for its Hong Kong operations.

The move follows Mark Johnson’s decision to resign from his role as CEO of Howden Hong Kong. Howden said Johnson will remain with the company to facilitate a smooth transition until spring, after which he will join a major insurer in Hong Kong.

Sham, who has been with Howden since 2013, has played a prominent role in the company’s growth across Hong Kong and Singapore, including most recently as Regional Director, Corporate Development. He has been a member of the Howden Hong Kong Board of Directors since 2018.

Goh Chye Huat, CEO of Howden Asia, expressed confidence in Sham’s abilities, stating, “Alfred has played a pivotal role in the expansion of Howden Asia and will now bring this knowledge and leadership to his position as interim CEO, Howden Hong Kong, during this transitional phase.”
