Coastal Marine Asia Holdings Ltd has named Joe Battle as Chairman and appointed Callum Clark as Group Chief Executive Officer, effective 1 April 2025, as part of a broader strategy to support the company’s next phase of growth.

Battle, who joined the managing general agent (MGA) as a director in October 2024, brings more than four decades of experience in the London and international marine insurance markets. His previous roles included being the active underwriter of a Lloyd’s syndicate and CEO of a Lloyd’s managing agent, Antares Managing Agency. He has also held senior positions at Amwins Global Risks, Chestnut Consultancy Limited, and Hampden Risk Partners.

Clark steps into the newly created CEO role following a 20-year career spanning broking, underwriting, and reinsurance. He began at Lloyd’s broker Tysers, where he specialised in marine lines, before going on to lead Chubb’s marine hull portfolio in the Asia-Pacific region, where he also oversaw marine reinsurance and underwriting audits. Most recently, he worked at Aon Re in London, where he was responsible for Japanese marine and energy treaty and facultative reinsurance.

According to Coastal Marine, the leadership changes “add a strong set of complementary skill sets to the current team… With the strengthened senior management team, the company is looking forward to building upon the strong foundations that have been laid and launching the company into its next phase of growth.”

Founded in 2012, Coastal Marine Asia has built a presence across Asia, Europe, and the Middle East, focusing on intermediary-driven distribution, with an emphasis on responsiveness and claims service.
