Lockton has announced two key appointments in its Professional and Executive Risk team in Australia, the global broker announced in a press release on Friday.

Queensland-based Craig Claughton will join in early July as National Manager for Financial Institutions, bringing over 40 years of industry experience. He joins the firm after 23 years at Marsh, where he held senior roles including Managing Director and Chairman of the Financial and Professional Liability Practice for the Pacific region.

Also appointed is Dennis Moens, who starts with the insurance broker on 7 July. The Sydney-based professional will be joining as a Client Manager, following 18 years of experience in Financial Lines across underwriting and broking. His background includes senior roles such as Client Manager at Honan Insurance Group and Senior Underwriter at Quanta Underwriting Agency.

The firm says the appointments “further cement Lockton’s position as a leading provider of risk advisory and insurance solutions for Australia’s financial institutions, professional services firms, and corporate clients.”

Commenting on the appointments, George Harding, General Manager – Professional & Executive Risk, said:
“Craig and Dennis bring significant capability to our business. Craig’s four decades of experience and leadership in Financial Institutions is well recognised across the market, and Dennis adds valuable depth to our advisory-focused client service.”

The hires follow the firm’s announcement in March that Marcus Pearson was appointed as Lockton CEO for Australia and New Zealand.
