Willis, a WTW business, has made two senior appointments within its Victorian construction practice in Australia, as part of a leadership transition aimed at strengthening client engagement and supporting future growth.

Effective 25 August, Vinh Ngo will join the business from Lockton as Head of Construction, Victoria. He succeeds Bill Callan, who has led the Victorian construction business since 2019 and will move into a newly created role as Director, Strategic Client Management.

The changes are designed to build on Willis’ established construction platform in Victoria. In his new role, Callan, who has developed and led the Victorian construction business, will remain closely involved in servicing Willis’ largest Victorian clients, with a greater focus on senior advisory work and strategic account management.

Commenting on the move, Callan said: “After 13 years at Willis, I am genuinely excited about this next chapter. The new role gives me the opportunity to spend more time alongside the clients I have worked with for many years, doing the technical and advisory work I value most.”

Ngo, meanwhile, brings more than 15 years of experience in construction and real estate insurance, having held roles across international brokers and corporates, including Lockton, Honan, Marsh, Toll Group and Aon.

“I am equally delighted to welcome Vinh to the team. He is an outstanding appointment and I look forward to working closely with him as he takes our Victorian team forward. Our clients can expect the same level of service and continuity, with even greater depth of support.”

Iain Drennan, Head of Construction, Asia Pacific and Latin America at Willis, said the appointments reflect both succession planning and the firm’s ambition to grow its construction offering.

On a broader Asia-Pacific level, Willis also recently made several senior-level appointments. These include the promotion of Scott Kirkwood to Head of Natural Resources for the Pacific region as well as the hiring of Eden Fletcher and Stephen Trickey to its Financial, Professional and Executive Risks team.

Stay ahead on the region’s key appointments.
