Manulife Hong Kong and Macau have announced three senior leadership appointments as part of its strategy to boost business growth and execute key priorities in the region.

Danny Lee has been named Chief Health Officer, a newly created role where he will lead health proposition development and oversee the entire health business. Lee, a Chartered Financial Analyst and Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, has been with Manulife Hong Kong for over 20 years, working across business strategy, pricing, product design, and distribution.

KC Cheung joins as Chief Product Officer, bringing over 25 years of experience from the insurance and banking sectors. Cheung previously served as CEO of Hang Seng Insurance, overseeing a multi-billion Hong Kong dollar life insurance portfolio, and was Head of Products at HSBC Life, managing policyholder liabilities for more than half a million customers.

In his new role, Cheung will lead product innovation, transformation, and in-force management across the product portfolio.

Louisa Li, currently Head of Strategy and Transformation at Manulife Asia, will take on an expanded role as Chief Strategy Officer for Hong Kong and Macau and Head of Macau Branch. Li will lead strategy teams and the Strategic Project Management Office while maintaining her existing regional responsibilities.

Both Lee and Cheung will start their roles on October 14, 2025, and will join the company’s Senior Management Team for Hong Kong and Macau. Li’s expanded role takes effect from September 1, 2025.

“These appointments reflect our ongoing commitment to building a high-performing leadership team that drives our growth ambitions and strategic priorities in Hong Kong and Macau,” said Patrick Graham, CEO of Manulife Hong Kong and Macau.

The leadership changes come as Manulife Asia continues its strong performance trajectory, with the segment posting record quarterly core earnings of US$520m in the second quarter following a 28% jump in new business value. The appointments also follow other regional moves, including Yiyi Huang’s recent appointment as Chief Risk Officer for Manulife Vietnam after 15 years with the company.
