Manulife Hong Kong & Macau has appointed Lilian Ng as an independent non-executive director to its board, the life insurer said on Thursday.
Ng brings more than 35 years of leadership experience in the life and health insurance industry across Asia and Australia, with expertise spanning regional business development, multi-distribution platform building, and customer and digital strategy.
A qualified actuary from Australia, she has held senior leadership roles across actuarial, finance, strategy and distribution functions.
Prior to joining Manulife, Ng held several senior roles at Prudential plc, including managing director of the strategic business group and regional chief executive officer for Greater China. She also served as chief executive officer, insurance for Asia, and chief operating officer at Prudential Corporation Asia over her 30-year tenure with the group.
The appointment comes as Manulife continues to refresh its leadership bench in the region. Last month, the insurer announced the promotion of Wilton Kee to chief executive officer, effective July 1.
In March, it also strengthened its artificial intelligence leadership in Hong Kong with the appointment of Hongjuan Liu as chief AI and data officer, alongside Mark Czajkowski as chief AI officer for Asia.
