Wilton Kee has been appointed as chief executive officer of Manulife Hong Kong and Macau on 1 July 2026, subject to regulatory approval.
He succeeds Patrick Graham, who will relocate to Canada to serve as President and CEO of Manulife Canada. The change forms part of its succession planning and supports its enterprise strategy, the insurer said in a statement released Friday.
Kee joined Manulife in 2013 and has held senior roles across pricing, product, health, and finance in Hong Kong and Macau. He served as chief product officer and later as head of health. The firm appointed him as chief financial officer in 2022. In March, his remit expanded to include the role of deputy CEO.
“Wilton’s appointment underscores our continued focus on disciplined execution, a diversified business model, and our long-term commitment to customers in one of our largest markets in Asia,” said Steve Finch, president and CEO of Manulife Asia. “This appointment represents our confidence that he will continue to execute against our long-term growth priorities as CEO.”
His appointment comes after a series of recent key regional developments for the business. Last week, the group reported first-quarter results that showed a 16% year-on-year rise in new business contractual service margin to C$1.019bn (approx. US$743.59m) and a 7% increase in new business value (NBV) to C$944m. Asia contributed US$585m of new business CSM, up 15%, while NBV rose 15% to US$533m, supported by higher sales volumes and a more favourable business mix, with growth in Hong Kong, Japan, and Singapore.
In April, the group also expanded its asset management footprint in Asia by completing the acquisition of PT Schroder Investment Management Indonesia, with the business now entering an integration phase through its local unit.
