The Australian and New Zealand Institute of Finance and Insurance (ANZIIF) has announced that Tim Tez — CEO at Resolution Life Australasia and Sarah Phillips — General Manager, Corporate Affairs and CEO Office at AIA — have been appointed to its Board of Directors.
Tez has over 23 years of experience in the industry, across areas including distribution, M&A, reinsurance, product, pricing, marketing, strategy, and government relations.
On the appointment, he commented, “I’m delighted to join the ANZIIF Board and have the opportunity to contribute to the important role ANZIIF plays in shaping and transforming the insurance and finance industry.” He added that he wanted to be able to contribute to driving changes in the industry, through the promotion of professional standards in education, learning, and improving community understanding.
Phillips joined AIA in 2017 and heads the insurer’s public policy advocacy, strategic communications, and ESG initiatives. She has held numerous public policy positions, including as Reputation Manager at the Business Council of Australia and consultant to the FSC, where she developed the Life Insurance Code of Practice.
Phillips said she aims to uphold ANZIIF’s standard of excellence in serving the insurance industry. Commenting on her new role, she said, “I have gained a real respect for the role that ANZIIF plays in supporting the industry and lifting standards. I very much look forward to advocating for and supporting ANZIIF in my new position on the Board.”
Prue Willsford, ANZIIF’s Chief Executive Officer, expressed her delight at the latest additions to the Board, adding, “their experience, industry knowledge, and passion for enhancing professional standards will greatly benefit ANZIIF and ensure we remain relevant to all the Members that we serve.”
