Delta Insurance New Zealand has promoted Dinesh Murali to managing director, effective 1 April, the company said in a LinkedIn post on Monday.
Murali has been with the company since 2014, most recently serving as chief underwriting officer (CUO). He has over 20 years of insurance industry experience, with prior underwriting positions for firms such as AIG and Lumley General Insurance.
He succeeds Andrew Beaton, who will move into a newly created APAC role as head of property for Delta Insurance Group. Joleene Dawson will be stepping into the CUO role following Murali’s promotion.
“Dinesh brings a powerful combination of product expertise, underwriting knowledge, industry profile, and strong broker relationships … Having someone of Dinesh’s calibre step into the role ensures a seamless transition for our broker partners and our team,” Delta Insurance Group’s newly appointed interim chief executive officer Teresa Pollard said.
Commenting on his appointment, Murali said, “This is an exciting opportunity, and I’m looking forward to continuing to build on the strong foundations we have laid together.”
Murali’s promotion follows other key leadership changes recently made by the firm, including the appointment of Hamish MacLean as its new managing director for Australia.
