Allianz has announced the appointment of Phuong Ly as Chief General Manager of Allianz Commercial, Australia.
Phuong has held senior roles across distribution and underwriting, and is now tasked with leading the new integrated approach of Allianz SE in the commercial insurance business.
This new integrated approach will bring together Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty (AGCS) in Australia – which focuses on large clients – and Allianz Australia Commercial division, which serves mid-sized accounts. This will simplify the experience for both clients and distribution partners.
Phuong joined Allianz in Oct 2021 from QBE, where he was Chief Underwriting Officer for AUSPAC. Prior to that, he held the position of Executive General Manager, Business Distribution at IAG.
Phuong will have dual reporting lines to Richard Feledy, Managing Director of Allianz Australia and AGCS CEO Joachim Mueller.
