Prudential Hong Kong has appointed Brian Chan as Chief Financial Officer, Viola Chan as Chief Human Resources Officer, and Alok Jha as Chief Strategy and Transformation Officer, the insurer announced in a media release on Tuesday.
Brian Chan headlines the line-up, rejoining Prudential after four years as Chief Risk Officer and Chief Actuary at Sun Life. He previously served at Prudential from 2004 to 2021, holding senior roles in actuarial and capital management across its Hong Kong and Asia businesses.
Joining him is Viola Chan, who has been promoted from her role as Head of People Advisory and Implementation. She brings over 20 years of experience in organisational development and talent management from major firms such as Sun Life, AIA, and MLC Australia. She succeeds Callister Koh, who has taken a senior position within the Prudential Group.
Jha has also been elevated from his position as Prudential’s Group Director and Head of Agency Strategy, Planning, and Performance Management in Hong Kong. He has spent nearly two decades with Prudential, including his stint at ICICI-Prudential Life and Prudential Assurance Company in Singapore.
All three will serve as members of the Executive Committee and report to Hong Kong Chief Executive Lawrence Lam.
Lam stated the appointments highlight Prudential’s commitment to cultivating a high-calibre leadership team. “I am confident that their diverse expertise and collaborative spirit will build upon our already strong and innovative foundation, driving even greater success for Prudential Hong Kong.”
Prudential has made key appointments within its Asia leadership team this year, including John Cai as Regional CEO for Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam and Agency, Abhishek Kumar as Chief Risk Officer, and Grace Lee as General Counsel for Hong Kong.
