Prudential has announced that Bill Maldonado is the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for its asset management arm, Eastspring Investments. Maldonado has been acting as the Interim CEO of Eastspring since April this year.
The appointment, effective from September 1st, will see Maldonado based in Singapore and reporting to Prudential’s CEO, Anil Wadhwani. Maldonado will also join the Prudential Group Executive Committee.
He initially joined the company in September 2021 as Head of Equities and ascended to the role of Chief Investment Officer in May 2022.
Maldonado boasts 30 years of asset management experience and has a record of efficient leadership in managing global investment teams. Before joining Eastspring, he worked with HSBC Global Asset Management, where he served as the Asia Pacific Chief Investment Officer and Global Chief Investment Officer for Equities.
Maldonado also has an impressive academic record with an MBA from Cranfield University, a Doctorate in Laser Physics from Oxford University, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics secured from Sussex University in the UK and Uppsala University in Sweden.
With Maldonado’s transition to the role of CEO, Eastspring Investments said they will soon announce a new Chief Investment Officer.
