Sun Life has appointed Frankie Leung as Chief Agency Officer for Asia, effective March 16, 2026, the insurer said in a statement on Wednesday.
Based in Hong Kong, Leung joins Sun Life from AIA, where he has held senior agency distribution roles since 2003. Most recently, he served as Regional Chief Agency Officer, covering Hong Kong, the Philippines, and South Korea, according to his LinkedIn profile.
In his new role, Leung will be reporting to David Broom, Sun Life’s Chief Client and Distribution Officer, Asia, and will be responsible for leading the insurer’s Asia agency business and key initiatives spanning agency recruitment, activation, compensation, training and development, and recognition, according to the company.
“Frankie will play an instrumental role on how we enhance our advisor experience from investing in their development, strengthening their ability to support Clients’ financial well-being,” Broom said.
Leung’s appointment is part of a broader round of senior leadership changes at Sun Life in Asia. The insurer has also recently named Anshuman Das as Chief Bancassurance Officer for Asia, while Sun Life Vietnam appointed Ly Tran as chief operations officer and Tuan Anh Vu as chief bancassurance officer.
