Peak Re has appointed Philip Hough as chief underwriting officer, effective 2 April 2026, the reinsurer said in a news release on Monday.

Hough has more than 30 years’ reinsurance experience and joins from Aspen Re, where he most recently served as global head of property reinsurance and head of EMEA/LATAM. He previously held the role of managing director for Asia-Pacific.

Now based in Hong Kong, Hough will report to chief executive Franz-Josef Hahn. “We’re delighted to welcome Philip to Peak Re,” Hahn said. “His strategic clarity, technical depth, and collaborative leadership style are an excellent fit for our ambition to scale with discipline.”
