MSIG Singapore has appointed Kensuke Hirai as its new managing director, effective 1 April 2026, the company announced in a LinkedIn post on Tuesday. He succeeds Ken Unoki, who is taking on a new role at the insurer’s head office in Japan, MSIG added.
Hirai will work with Singapore chief executive officer Mack Eng to drive the firm’s growth and strengthen its position in the regional market.
“With over three years of leadership of our Japanese business, Hirai brings deep regional experience and a strong track record to the role,” MSIG said.
The business also paid tribute to Unoki’s role in shaping the company’s “refreshed vision and purpose” by building strong relationships with corporate clients and intermediaries and strengthening collaboration within the business.
“As we mark a leadership transition at MSIG Singapore, we would like to thank Ken Unoki for his valuable contributions during his tenure as managing director,” MSIG said.
The transition follows the recent appointment of Masanori Ishibashi as deputy CEO for MSIG Hong Kong.
