Clyde & Co has expanded its Bangkok office with the addition of three partners—Robert Tang, Samata Masagee, and Akyn Suttawatanadech—along with 15 lawyers and staff, the business announced on Thursday.

The law firm said the expansion “establishes a broader full-service disputes and corporate capability in Bangkok” and will support market participants, including insurers and reinsurers, with regulatory, transactional, claims, and dispute resolution work.

Robert Tang brings experience in insurance and reinsurance disputes and international arbitration. He advises insurers, reinsurers, and multinational corporates on insurance disputes, cross-border arbitration, and commercial litigation across Southeast Asia.

Samata Masagee joins with a corporate and regulatory practice focused on public and private M&A, joint ventures, and corporate restructurings. She advises domestic and international clients in regulated sectors, including energy, technology, and financial services.

Akyn Suttawatanadech focuses on construction and infrastructure disputes, commercial disputes, arbitration, investigations, product liability, and corporate crime.

The team will also work with Clyde & Co’s marine and shipping practice in Thailand.

“Thailand sits at the centre of mainland Southeast Asia and continues to play a critical role in regional investment flows and supply chains,” said Thomas Choo, Managing Partner, Singapore. “The expansion of our Bangkok office reflects both the importance of the market and our ambition to deepen our capabilities across key sectors in the region.”

Clyde & Co has operated in Asia Pacific for over 40 years and has more than 2,400 insurance lawyers globally in over 70 offices. The firm’s Asia Pacific network includes more than 350 legal professionals across Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Mainland China, and South Asia.
