Gallagher Re has appointed Luc Morement to lead its Asia Pacific facultative business as managing director, the reinsurance broker said on Monday.

Based in Singapore, Morement joins from Guy Carpenter, where he had held senior positions, including as head of fac for Asia Pacific until 2024 and more recently regional sales leader for Asia Pacific.

“Luc brings extensive experience in facultative reinsurance across the Asia Pacific region, with a strong track record of working with clients and market partners throughout the region,” Gallagher Re said in its statement, adding he will support the continued growth of reinsurance broker’s global facultative business.

Morement joins a business Gallagher Re has had a clear focus on building out for the past year. The broker created its first global facultative chief executive post in July last year, filling it with Pablo Muñoz, while taking full ownership of its Japan property and casualty facultative portfolio at the same time, adding staff in Singapore and London and flagging further hires. It appointed Fabienne Marsoner as Asia Pacific facultative casualty broker in March.
