QBE Australia Pacific’s managing director of business, Elliot Hill, will leave the insurer at the end of August after seven years with the group, including more than four years leading its business division.

Confirming the exit, QBE Australia Pacific CEO Sue Houghton said in an emailed statement that Hill had decided to leave the organisation and will remain with the business until 31 August to support the transition.

“During his time with QBE, Elliot has played a significant role in leading the Business division through a period of transformation and growth, while maintaining a strong focus on our customers, partners, and people,” Houghton said.

“Elliot is respected for his leadership, commitment, and contributions to QBE, and we wish him every success in the future.”

QBE has appointed Lorelle Hillman as acting managing director of business while it undertakes a recruitment process for a permanent successor.

The departure comes amid broader leadership changes at the insurer. QBE recently announced that Houghton will retire at the end of 2026 after more than five years in the role and a career spanning more than 35 years in financial services.

The insurer has also been reshaping its governance structure, with Australia Pacific board chair Melanie Willis recently appointed to the QBE Group Board and Dave Curran named as her successor as chair of the regional board.
