Publisher

(Re)in Asia is a brand operated and published by Playfair Media Limited, a privately held company registered in Hong Kong.

Company details

Legal entity: Playfair Media Limited
Business Registration No.: 75215105
Registered address: 17/F, 80 Gloucester Road, Wan Chai, Hong Kong
Publication established: 2023

The publication covers the Asia Pacific insurance and reinsurance market. Its purpose and editorial principles are described on our About page and in our Editorial Standards.

How we are funded

Playfair Media Limited funds (Re)in Asia through a mix of commercial activities connected to its professional publishing business. These include:

  • Reader subscriptions and paid access to premium content.
  • Commercial sponsorships and partnerships.
  • Clearly labelled partner and commissioned content.
  • Commercial research, reports, and content programmes.
  • Events, awards, and related partnerships.

The presence of a commercial relationship does not entitle a partner to favourable independent coverage. Likewise, an organisation does not need to be a commercial partner or subscriber to be covered by the newsroom.

How editorial independence is protected

Newsroom decisions, including what to cover, how prominently to cover it, and what conclusions to draw, are made on editorial grounds. Commercial colleagues may identify market themes or opportunities, but they may not require the newsroom to publish, suppress, or alter independent reporting.

  • Sponsors and commercial partners do not approve independent stories before publication.
  • Payment is not accepted in exchange for unlabelled editorial coverage.
  • Independent reporting is not written to meet a sponsor’s marketing objective.
  • Material conflicts involving the publisher, its staff, or a commercial partner are disclosed where they are relevant to the reader’s assessment of a story.

Partner content

Commercial content is visually and verbally distinguished from independent journalism. The labels “Editorially-led partner content”, “Partner content”, and “Whitepaper” are displayed where the content is promoted and on the content page itself. A disclosure identifies the funding or supplying organisation where that is not already obvious.

Our commercial team may work with a partner on format, subject, and delivery. The partner may review commissioned material for factual accuracy and brand references. That process does not convert commercial material into independent newsroom reporting, and the label remains.

Disclosure in our journalism

If (Re)in Asia reports on Playfair Media Limited, one of its products, or an organisation with a commercial relationship that is material to the story, we disclose that relationship when a reasonable reader would consider it relevant.

Our journalists may attend industry events, briefings, and meetings in the normal course of reporting. Any material support for a specific assignment is handled under our Editorial Standards.
