Manulife Asia has announced the appointment of Sabrina Cheung as its new Chief Communications Officer.

She will be based in Hong Kong and report to Phil Witherington, Manulife Asia’s president and CEO, and Anne Hammer, Manulife’s global chief communications officer.

Cheung will work across all Asia markets in which Manulife operates, leading strategic communications ranging from media relations, thought leadership, social media, colleague communications, content, and events.

She moves from AXA Asia and Africa, where she was chief brand and communications officer — leading award-winning campaigns, media strategies, and community initiatives. Prior to AXA, she held senior leadership roles at Cigna International Markets, adidas Group, the Coca-Cola Company, and McCann WorldGroup.

Commenting on the appointment, Witherington said, “Sabrina’s wealth of expertise will help connect and scale our story for impact and we’re looking forward to the contributions she will make across our team.”

“Sabrina’s background across multiple disciplines, her passion for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, and her experience across financial services and consumer product goods will help us think differently about the impact we can have with our communications for our Asia business and the significant growth potential it represents for our global company,” said Anne Hammer, Global Chief Communications Officer, Manulife.
