Berkley Insurance Asia has changes to its team structure, including the creation of a new position and the promotion of three team members, effective from 1 June 2024. The announcements, made on Monday, marks a strategic shift in the company’s focus toward cyber insurance in Asia.
Heidi Zeng, previously serving as Regional Director for Lloyd’s China operations, has been promoted to the newly established position of Head of Cyber – Asia. This role has been introduced in anticipation of the growing demand for cyber insurance across the region, the company said in a statement on LinkedIn.
Zeng will be based in Hong Kong and report to International Cyber Manager, Noel Tan. In addition to her primary role, Zeng also takes up the position of Head of Strategic Relationships – China, levering her extensive experience and connections in the country.
Following Zeng’s promotion, Owen Yin has been appointed as Regional Director for China, taking over the responsibilities previously held by Zeng, while also serving as the Casualty Technical Lead for Asia.
Jack Zhao has also been elevated to the role of Underwriting Manager, Specialty Liability while maintaining his current role as the Life Sciences Technical Lead for Asia.
Both Yin and Zhao will also begin their new roles on 1 June 2024.
