Chaucer Group has named Emily Brand as Deputy Class Underwriter – Energy in its Singapore office, effective immediately, the business announced on Tuesday (1 July).

In her new role, Brand reports to Scott Ho, who leads the energy team in Singapore, and will work alongside Charles Tan to support Chaucer’s underwriting strategy for its energy business in the Asia Pacific region.

Brand joins Chaucer after over eight years with AEGIS, where she most recently served as Energy Underwriter. She brings over ten years of experience in the insurance sector, mainly in the marine and energy classes, having previously held roles at Markel and Lloyd’s.

Ho said the business recognises APAC as a vital part of the global (re)insurance market and is dedicated to bringing in people who will add value to its clients. “Emily’s experience in the energy market will play a huge role as we look to expand our energy offering across the region,” he added.
