Aon has appointed Natsuko Kato as deputy director in its Transaction Solutions team in Asia, based in Japan, the firm announced on Thursday.

Kato joins the broker from Medtronic Japan, where she most recently served as principal legal counsel and advised on strategic M&A initiatives, transaction-related risks and post-acquisition integration.

She also brings experience advising global private equity investors on Japanese investments, as well as assessing legal, regulatory and compliance risks across complex cross-border transactions.

“Her combination of technical knowledge, commercial insight, and client-centric approach will be a tremendous asset as we continue to expand our Transaction Solutions capabilities across Japan and Asia Pacific,” said Martijn de Lange, Aon’s managing director of transaction solutions for APAC.

Kato’s appointment comes as Aon continues to grow its Transaction Solutions team in APAC. It follows recent additions to the team, including Ee Yen Lin as regional director for Asia, Jessie Shi as associate director in Shanghai, and Nelumi Jayasundara as senior associate in APAC.

Earlier this year, Aon also promoted Anita Vivekananda to managing director of Transaction Solutions for APAC.

The hires follow Aon’s forecast that India, South Korea and Southeast Asia will drive the next phase of transaction risk growth in Asia-Pacific, with large and cross-border deals lifting demand for warranty and indemnity and tax liability cover.
