AIG has announced three senior appointments in the Asia Pacific region, with Dimitry Zilberud appointed as Head of Marine for APAC, Niall O’Connell named Head of Inland Marine for Pacific, and Jason Sheehan joining as Head of Commercial Property and Business Pack for Australia.
The Sydney-based trio join AIG from Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance. Zilberud spent nine years there, most recently as SV, Head of Marine for the US and Australasia; O’Connell was with BHSI for eight years, serving most recently as Inland Marine Manager; while Sheehan spent over eight and a half years at the company and moves from his role as Property Manager and Customer & Broker Engagement for Victoria.
“I’m thrilled to share that Dimitry Zilberud has started with AIG as Head of Marine, Asia Pacific,” said Emma Woolley, Global Head of Marine at AIG, in an announcement on LinkedIn. “Dimitry has 26 years of insurance experience, bringing a deep understanding of the region, established relationships, and a solid track record for driving growth,” she added.
Grant Cairns, CEO of Australia and Head of Pacific, also took to LinkedIn to announce O’Connell’s and Sheehan’s moves.
“I am pleased to announce that Niall O’Connell has joined AIG as Head of Inland Marine, Pacific,” Cairns said. “Niall is an experienced and highly regarded marine, property and casualty underwriter, well known for bringing solutions-based underwriting to brokers and clients.”
On Sheehan’s appointment, Cairns commented, “With over 13 years of property underwriting experience, Jason brings strong industry relationships and deep technical expertise. He will be instrumental in driving innovation and excellence in our underwriting services for brokers and clients within the property and broader SME market.”
