The American Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong has appointed Prudential plc’s Tommy Han and Lockton’s Rebecca Spence as co-chairs of its newly established Insurance Sub-Committee under the Financial Services Committee.
Han currently serves as government relations director at Prudential plc in Hong Kong and has been with the insurer for more than seven years. Before joining Prudential, he held public affairs and market entry roles at Bupa in Hong Kong and Beijing, and earlier worked at Pernod Ricard.
He has also served as vice chair of AmCham HK’s Insurance Committee since June 2021 and is currently chair of the China Committee at the British Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong.
Spence currently works as senior vice president for client strategy and relationship management at Lockton in Hong Kong, a role she took up in November 2024. Before joining the broker, she spent more than three years at The Hong Kong Jockey Club as senior manager for insurance.
She has nearly 18 years of industry experience, including previous roles at Circles Group, Howden and FP Marine Risks, with exposure to portfolios across Asia Pacific and the Middle East earlier in her career.
“This sub-committee is dedicated to strengthening Hong Kong’s role as Asia’s premier hub for (re)insurance — driving growth, innovation, and collaboration in one of the region’s most dynamic sectors,” AmCham HK said.
