Andrew Geldart and Julian Baumbach have joined Zurich Australia as Underwriting Managers, Sarah Powell, Zurich’s State Manager for NSW/ACT, announced on LinkedIn. Geldart joins the business to lead the NSW Property & Marine team with Baumbach leading the local Motor Fleet team.
“We are delighted to announce the appointment of two high calibre underwriting managers to the Zurich Australia NSW/ACT team,” Powell said in her announcement on the new appointments, who are both based in Sydney.
Geldart joins from Gallagher Re, where he was serving as Executive Director for the broker’s Australian operations. He brings over 30 years of experience in roles across broking, reinsurance, and insurance, having worked at firms including Vero, JLT Australia, and Gerling Global Insurance Corp.
Baumbach meanwhile joins from Allianz where he was serving as Senior Underwriter. Specialising in motor underwriting, he brings over a decade of experience in the insurance industry, working in similar roles for insurers such as Suncorp Group, Vero, and CGU Insurance.
