Aviva Investors appoints new Asia Pac CEO

Sandra Cheng has moved from Columbia Threadneedle to take up the position at the UK headquartered firm.

Asset manager Aviva Investors has appointed Sandra Cheng as CEO, Asia Pacific and Head of Asia Pacific, Distribution.

Cheng will be based in Singapore and will report to Jill Barber, Chief Distribution Officer, at Aviva Investors. The new CEO will be responsible for leading all business development and client relationships in the region.

Cheng was previously CEO, Singapore and Head of Institutional, Southeast Asia at fellow asset manager,  Columbia Threadneedle.

Prior to this, she held roles with Deutsche Asset Management, HSBC Investments and Wellington International Management. 

Jill Barber, Chief Distribution Officer at Aviva Investors, said that Cheng’s appointment was part of the firm’s ‘ambitious’ plans for growth in the region.
