AXA, has launched a new health and well-being initiative for its 110,000 employees across 51 countries.

In a statement, AXA said the ‘We Care’ program was designed to offer time, support, and resources for employees at all life stages and that emphasise the copany’s commitment towards a more inclusive and caring global workplace culture.

The new initiative consists of four main pillars: a caregiver policy, a domestic and sexual violence policy, a parental policy, and a ‘Healthy You’ program.

The caregiver policy offers up to five days of paid leave for employees caring for immediate family members with serious health conditions; the domestic and sexual violence policy provides psychological support, specialist assistance, flexible work settings and five days of paid leave for affected employees; and the revised parental policy doubles co-parent leave from four to eight weeks, alongside additional support for situations like in-vitro fertilisation and pregnancy loss.

The existing ‘Healthy You’, program, which was launched in 2020 and offers employee benefits like psychological support, teleconsultation services, medical check-ups, and minimum cancer coverage, has also expanded to include various health benefits and support for conditions like menopause and andropause.

Thomas Buberl, CEO of AXA, emphasized the company’s commitment to employee well-being, commenting, “In a society where new uncertainties and challenges are arising, we also want to support our employees in taking care of their loved ones. This global program concretely shows our commitment to care for our employees’ overall well-being and to be there for them in the moments which matter.”

Karima Silvent, Group Chief Human Resources Officer at AXA, added, “Through ‘We Care’, AXA acknowledges that employees may have complex and varying lives and aims to provide a platform that empowers our employees to care for themselves and their loved ones, no matter where they are based in the world.”

AXA plans to deploy the ‘We Care’ program across all corporate bodies worldwide by the end of 2024, and said it would be an integral aspect of the company’s upcoming 2024 to 2026 strategic plan.
