Beazley has promoted Aizad Khair to M&A product leader for Asia, where he will lead the specialty insurer’s Singapore team, according to a LinkedIn post by Tim Allen, head of global M&A.

Khair joined Beazley in 2022 and most recently served as an underwriter. He brings more than 13 years of legal experience, with expertise in M&A. Before joining the insurer, he worked at several law firms, including Nagashima Ohno & Tsunematsu and ZICO Law.

Commenting on his appointment, Khair said: “Asia is fast, complex, diverse and occasionally, chaotic. Exactly why this role is such a privilege. I look forward to collaborating even more closely with everyone across the region to keep doing the right thing and raising the bar.”

Khair’s promotion comes as Zurich Insurance Group moves ahead with its proposed US$10.9bn cash acquisition of Beazley, which is expected to close in the second half of 2026, subject to approvals. The combined business would have about US$15bn in specialty gross written premiums on a pro forma end-2024 basis.
