China Reinsurance (China Re) has nominated Zhu Xiaoyun as its next president and appointed her deputy secretary of the Party Committee.

Zhu, currently the company’s executive director and vice president, is set to become the first woman to serve as president of China Re upon completion of the relevant approval procedures.

She will replace Zhuang Qianzhi, who was appointed chairman of China Re, following approval from the National Financial Regulatory Administration.

Zhu first joined China Re in 1998 and had previously served as the company’s deputy head of the board office and head of the general office (CPC Committee Office).

Previously, she served as a director at Huatai Insurance Agency and Consultant Service Limited and as director of the former China Insurance Media Company Ltd. (currently known as China Financial Media Company Ltd.).
