The Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA) announced today that it has granted Everest International Reinsurance a general insurance licence.
The approval aligns with Everest Group’s global growth strategy, which includes expanding its operations into Australia.
It follows a series of recent appointments by the group, including Scott Leney, who started in November 2023 as Head of APAC, based in Sydney.
APRA has also updated its register of authorised general insurers to include Everest International Reinsurance Ltd accordingly.
