(Re)in Summary

• Gallagher has announced the full acquisition of Philinsure after initially holding a minority stake.
• Philinsure operates in Cebu City, Manila, and Davao City, offering insurance and reinsurance brokerage services.
• Gordon “Dondi” Joseph and the Philinsure leadership team will remain in place, reporting to Sarah Lyons, Head of Retail Property/Casualty Brokerage Operations for Australia and Asia at Gallagher.

Gallagher on Monday announced the full acquisition of Philinsure, solidifying its position in the Philippines’ insurance and reinsurance brokerage sector. The deal follows Gallagher’s previous minority investment in the firm, though financial details were not disclosed.

Headquartered in Cebu City with offices in Manila and Davao City, Philinsure provides commercial (re)insurance brokerage services, supporting businesses across multiple industries.

The company’s leadership team, led by Gordon “Dondi” Joseph, will continue to oversee operations and will report to Sarah Lyons, Gallagher’s Head of Retail Property/Casualty Brokerage Operations for Australia and Asia.

Gallagher’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, J. Patrick Gallagher, Jr., stated that the acquisition enhances the company’s brokerage capabilities in Asia, citing Philinsure’s established presence and alignment with Gallagher’s operations.

“With a strong record of growth and a culture like our own, Philinsure provides a fantastic opportunity to expand our retail brokerage capabilities in Asia. I am very pleased to welcome Dondi and his associates to our growing, global family of Gallagher professionals,” said Gallagher.

The acquisition is part of Gallagher’s broader expansion in the Asia-Pacific region amid growing demand for risk management and reinsurance solutions.

In January 2025, the company acquired Perth-based Wealth Management Partners, a financial planning firm specialising in retirement risk management. In March 2025, Gallagher also took over New Zealand-based RMA General, which provides commercial, personal, life, and health insurance solutions.
