Hannover Re has appointed Vincent Hermenier as Managing Director, the reinsurer announced on LinkedIn on Tuesday. He succeeds Sigrid Klass, who is due to retire on 30 June 2025 after more than 35 years of service at the business.

In his new role, Hermenier will oversee a range of property and casualty insurance markets across Europe, Asia, and Africa. The regions specifically under his responsibility include France, the Benelux, the Nordics, Central, Eastern and Southeastern Europe, Türkiye, Central Asia, the Caucasus, the Maghreb, West Africa, and Israel, Hannover Re said in its announcement.

Hermenier first joined the German reinsurer in 2004 as a Senior Underwriter. Since 2013, he has held the position of General Manager.
