Kuvare Life Re Ltd (KLR), the reinsurance arm of Kuvare Holdings, has named Daisuke Nagamori as Chief Representative for Asia-Pacific in conjunction with the opening of its new representative office in Tokyo, according to a 30 September press release.

Nagamori has more than 25 years of experience in insurance and financial services across Asian markets. He has held senior roles in Malaysia, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Japan, most recently serving as Chief Commercial Officer at a multinational life insurer in Tokyo.

Based in Tokyo, he will oversee KLR’s regional engagement, building relationships with Japanese life insurers and other market participants as the company expands in Asia.

The new office formally establishes KLR’s presence in Japan and supports its wider regional growth strategy. It follows reinsurance transactions with three Japanese life insurers, spanning five product lines and exceeding ¥500 billion (US$3.5 billion) in written premiums.

Dhiren Jhaveri, Founder and Chief Executive of Kuvare, said the Tokyo office “represents an important step in strengthening our ties to Japan and other Asian markets.” Nicholas Li, Chief Business Development Officer of KLR, added that the appointment of Nagamori “enhances the support and responsiveness we are able to provide to our partners.”
