Sean Langham has joined Marsh Re Pacific’s facultative reinsurance team as vice president, based in Melbourne, the company announced on LinkedIn on Wednesday.

Langham joins from Aon, where he worked as a senior facultative broker. He previously held a managerial role at State Farm.

The appointment is one of the first regional moves made under the Marsh Re banner. Guy Carpenter, Marsh McLennan’s reinsurance broking arm, is being renamed Marsh Re as part of a group-wide switch to the Marsh brand, announced in October.

The wider group has been expanding its leadership team in the Pacific. In March, Marsh appointed Marcus Piristi, who also joined from Aon, as head of energy. In the same month, David Brumpton was appointed head of client services, while Tim Atkins joined as head of the insurance consulting group for the Pacific region. In February, Noelene Palmer was named Pacific chief operating officer.
