(Re)in Summary

• MSIG Singapore has partnered with Monee to launch a pet insurance product on Shopee, expanding its digital retail distribution channels.
• The policy, underwritten by MSIG, offers complimentary accidental injury coverage for one month, with options to upgrade to broader plans.
• The launch complements MSIG’s PawEasy policy, which provides up to S$20,000 (US$15,438) annual coverage, addressing growing demand for pet medical protection.

MSIG Insurance (Singapore) has partnered with digital financial services provider Monee to launch a pet insurance product on e-commerce platform Shopee, according to a press release issued on 8 December.

The product offers plans starting from S$0.20 per day, including up to S$3,500 in hospitalisation and surgery benefits, as well as cover for complementary therapies and pre- and post-surgery consultations, and treatment. Optional outpatient protection, similarly up to S$3,500, is also available.

“Our goal at Monee is to make insurance simple and affordable so every pet has access to the care they deserve,” Yang Yang, regional director at Monee Insurance, said.

For Steven Leong, head of retail distribution at MSIG Singapore, the partnership reinforces both companies’ “shared commitment in making insurance accessible and part of everyday life.”

Leong said that the move builds on MSIG’s existing suite of products available on Shopee, which already includes travel, car, and personal accident insurance.

The collaboration, which will be launched on 12 December, also introduces a complimentary one-month policy offering up to S$100 in coverage for outpatient and inpatient treatment resulting from accidental injury.

Earlier in April, the insurer launched a similar pet insurance offering, PawEasy, which provides up to S$20,000 in annual coverage for hospitalisation and surgical procedures.
